Qualifications
If, for example, you are seeking a clerical worker, we will issue a typing test for speed, grammatical correctness, and understanding of different types of letters, etc. We will learn about what clerical experience he has that might not have been included on his resume.
Personable
Through telephone conversations, we will determine if the person is a good listener (doesn't interupt, is able to recall earlier parts of the conversation); if the person can demonstrate empathy (doesn't brush off a personal comment made by the caller); if the person can keep a conversation going when there is a lull; and if the person seems easily distracted by background disturbances.
Interest
Does this person ask enough questions to demonstrate that he really wants to become familiar with what the job entails and what might be expected of him? Does he clear his schedule enough to make sure that there is ample time to discuss the position?
Motivation
We want to know what motivates our candidates. Is it strictly money? Is it the thrill of accepting new challenges? Through our personality tests we attempt to determine what makes our candidates "tick". A lack of motivation for a position may mean that she won't remain in that position for very long. And that can mean starting the search all over again.
